Hermes Netburn Shareholder, Jeremy Y. Weltman, Obtains Motion for Summary Judgment on Uniform Fraudulent Transfer Act Claim

7/24/2019

(Boston, MA – July 23, 2019) Hermes Netburn shareholder, Jeremy Y. Weltman, successfully obtained judgment in favor of the firm’s client ona motion for summary judgment based on the Uniform Fraudulent Transfer Act. As a result, an individual member of a long defunct LLC will be held personally liable to the firm’s client for over a half million dollars. In this matter, Jeremy adeptly and successfully convinced the Court that the individual owner of the debtor LLC transferred and misused LLC funds in such a way to plainly evidence an intent to defraud creditors; namely, the firm’s client. Now, with a Court Judgment against the individual member behind the debtor LLC in hand, the firm’s client will succeed in avoiding trial on the issue altogether – saving the client time, expense and uncertainty.

Jeremy Y. Weltman runs a wide-reaching litigation practice representing both individuals and companies across many industries including hospitality, real estate, construction, healthcare, restaurant, and retail. Jeremy's direct civil and commercial litigation experience includes handling complex commercial and business litigation, employment litigation, real estate disputes, construction matters, class-actions, civil rights, ADA accessibility litigation, municipal disputes, appellate advocacy and other tort based litigation matters.
