Hermes Netburn Attorney, Holly M. Polglase, Named Chair-Elect for Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section of the ABA

(Boston, MA – January 25, 2017) Holly M. Polglase has been named the Chair-Elect for the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association.  The ABA is the world’s largest voluntary professional membership organization. Holly remarks, “I am proud to be elected to this position.  I will work tirelessly to ensure members receive the best possible educational and practice support services the ABA provides.”  Holly will serve a one-year term as Chair-Elect before moving into the role of Chair.

As a shareholder at Boston’s Hermes, Netburn, O’Connor & Spearing, P.C., Holly Polglase acts as lead counsel in the defense and trial of complex product liability, pharmaceutical, medical device, toxic tort, asbestos, intellectual property, general liability and commercial matters.  With over twenty years of experience, she works as national and regional counsel for major national and multi-national corporations.

Holly has been an active member of the American Bar Association throughout her career.  She has been a member of the Council, TIPS’ governing body, since 2009.  Her long-standing commitment to the ABA includes her work as a TIPS Representative to the ABA House of Delegates, Chair of the CLE Board and of the Product Liability, General and Consumer Law Committee as well as her role as member on the Task Force on Leadership Diversity Initiative and as a TIPS Fellow.

The American Bar Association’s Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) provides knowledge and leadership resources for trial practice and critical issues of justice that involve tort and insurance law.  TIPS is unique within the ABA and the legal community for its focus on balance and diversity, bringing together plaintiffs, defense, corporate and in-house counsel to tackle issues confronting the profession.  TIPS provides informative CLE programs, comprehensive periodicals, cutting-edge publications, and innovative online resources.  The section has about 20,000 members and 31 general committees focused on substantive and procedural matters in this focused area of law.
