Kent McKinley is an associate at Hermes, Netburn, O’Connor & Spearing, P.C.  He counsels clients in connection with litigation matters across a range of industries including corporate defense, product manufacturing, heavy machinery, and automotive. Kent’s experience includes financial disputes, products liability, employment law, insurance defense, and other general business litigation matters.  Kent manages research and discovery, provides case analysis, drafts motions, and conducts depositions for the firm’s clients.

Kent brings a methodical, detail oriented approach to resolving cases for both defendants and plaintiffs.  Before becoming a lawyer, Kent worked for a hedge fund administrator in New York City.  Kent’s background in the financial industry, combined with his undergraduate work in mathematics, allows Kent to apply strong problem-solving techniques and first-hand business experience to developing thorough and effective solutions.  Kent is admitted to practice in both Maine and Massachusetts.

Prior to joining the firm, Kent was an associate with a Boston-based products liability and insurance defense law firm.  In this role, he defended clients in a range of products liability matters. While studying at the University of Texas School of Law, Kent worked as a research assistant for Professor Loftus C.
